Online Learning Resources
The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is happy to offer a variety of online learning resources for our patrons. Using these tools, you can learn about the latest technology for web development and software, prepare for a job interview, or get homework help from a live tutor. These resources are available for use in the library, at home, or on the go. Click on any of the links below and sign in using your library card number.
Northstar Digital Literacy
Northstar Digital Literacy defines basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Online, self-guided modules assess the ability of individuals to perform tasks based on these skills. Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in three main areas:
Essential Computer Skills - Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows OS, Mac OS
Essential Software Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs
Using Technology in Daily Life - Social Media, Information Literacy, Career Search Skills, Supporting K-12 Distance Learning, Your Digital Footprint.
Northstar was developed in response to the needs of job seekers who may lack the digital literacy skills needed to seek, obtain, and retain employment, as well as to perform other tasks in daily life. Northstar allows users to freely take the assessments from anywhere.
LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning (formerly lynda.com) is a major workforce development resource, and it is now available to our patrons free of charge! With your Library card, you have access to over 6,600 courses, ranging from computer programming to project management including instruction on various computer software, programming languages, and business topics.
Brainfuse
Brainfuse features on-demand, anywhere online learning. Live online tutoring in a safe and secure environment, expert writing guidance, academic and standardized test prep, comprehensive video learning library, and so much more for students of all ages! Tutors are available daily from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
TeachingBooks
TeachingBooks provides a curated collection of author and book resources to support literacy instruction and engage readers while nurturing the joy of reading! This popular collection of books read in kindergarten through twelfth grade helps teachers bring reading to life.
TeachingBooks (PreK-12)
One stop provides resources for books you are reading and teaching, including author and illustrator interviews, lesson plans, and other enrichment content.

Book Connections is an easy-to-use online database that strives to enrich the reading experiences of children’s and young adult books.
