The Friends of Tiffin-Seneca Public Library
The Friends of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library was chartered in November of 1981. The Friends group is, by definition, a growing group of citizens who support the Library’s projects and needs through fundraising.
The purpose of the Friends is to: - Maintain an association of persons interested in the Library - Focus public attention on the Library - Stimulate the use of the Library’s resources and services - Receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the Library - Support and cooperate with the Library in developing library services and facilities for the community. - Support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.
The Friends are willing to contribute time, talent and money as a supportive organization of the Library and are the official hosts for Library functions as well as provide volunteers for various projects. Friends’ Activities Include: - The Annual Book Sale - Summer Reading Program events - The Books For Kids program - The Friends’ Annual Meeting and program - Hosting for Library events, including Community Wide Read events and the Halloween Hullabaloo - Special projects throughout the year which in the past has included the Mystery Dinner Theater, the Wreath Sale and the Silent Art Auction
The Friends Need Your Help! Now, more than ever, the Library needs the Seneca County Community’s support! Stop by your library, borrow books and movies, use a computer, take a class, go to a special event and take your children and grandchildren to the Junior Library’s programs - and be a Friend! Join the Friends and volunteer your time and assistance. Help at special events, volunteer to shelf books, process books, assist the staff, shelf read or join the Friends’ Board. Give a $3 donation for the Books for Kids project. Your monetary support goes directly to books for children in the area.
